Fasta Pasta

Img_1817I will never cook dried pasta the old way again. Heather, the owner of my favorite gourmet cooking tools store showed these to me a while back and raved about it. I was in the midst of the move to the new house so I put off buying it until now.

It has holes in the lid to measure the amount of pasta by serving so you know how much to cook.

It has markings on the side so you know how much water to add.

It has a strainer in one end of the lid for draining the water.

And It Works

No waiting for water to boil. Just put in the pasta and water and slide it into the microwave. They even give you a little chart to tell you how long to cook it.

Perfect Valentine's Day Gift

Hdr_logoGuys, here's the perfect Valentines Day gift for your Lady: M&M candies custom-imprinted with her name.

You can select two colors and up to two messages. They have multiple packaging options including Silver TIn box and min-glass box. Unfortunately, you cannot get just ONE tin or ONE glass box. If you want the Glass Box option, you have to get a package of twelve.

My advice is to just get the four 7oz bags and go buy your own larger container.

Watch the Fumbling Foodie at Work!

Tonight my good friends Michael Goodman and Hilari Weinstein were here for dinner. My first rule: Never use your guests as guinea pigs. So dinner consisted of three tried-and-true dishes:

Bistro Style Chicken Drumsticks with a Raspberry Vinaigrette

Milles-Feuilles Asparagus

White Chocolate Souffle with Raspberry-Chocolate Sauce

Thanks to uStream, I did the whole thing on live video for everyone to see. In case you missed it (and have nothing better to do than see a middle-aged guy potter around in the kitchen), you can watch it:

I Stream Ustream

UStream.tv that is.

Last night at the Social Media Club I was introduced to UStream. Anyone can use it to stream live video out to the world. You can also record those video sessions for playback later.

Sunday (1/13/08) I will be preparing dinner for two good friends and I've decided to LiveStream it.

Come watch me fix diner at:
